Waterfront Reggae
I’m a sucker for indie artists who take a grassroots approach to stardom and success rather than 15 seconds of star power on Shark Tank. Perhaps it’s the ole’ rags-to-riches story I admire–garage band plays local party, plays local dive bar, plays three dozen college parties and finally gets a real gig which leads to another real gig which finally leads to an epic gig in Hawaii with record royalties drizzling in by the following winter.
That’s a pretend version of the story behind Rebelution, a reggae band with an actual roots IQ. Technically sound, and a passion for the craft, these guys have what it takes for–get this–growth, and staying power in this thing we call a musical evolution.
